After School Horsemanship Learning Center
Children and Adults
alike will enjoy riding. They will look forward to the time spent with our horses in the arena or on the wooded trails. We
will be encouraging parents to come and participate in your son or daughter’s horsemanship experience.
Children will receive basic horsemanship
with riding lessons, horse health care, equipment care, and maintenance instruction, general operation of
the stable. Your first set of lessons will be in the arena and by following the instruction of the riding instructor you
will soon learn how easy it is to walk, trot and canter properly, with confidence. When you have demonstrated enough
skill and assurance in the arena. You will have opportunities to take part in supervised rides on the trails.
All beginners start out on a western style saddle. They may decide to continue working on their western riding or move
to a English style and the more advanced riders will learn saddle seat, dressage & jumping. As the rider advances in their
horsemanship experience we will move to teaching basic hoof care and general medicine care. Also for advanced riders
we will be doing field trips to the veterinary hospital to see how they handle horse health care. As well as how
the horse shoer cares for the hoof.
Our after school program runs at this time during the public school year.
We may add a schedule for the summer months by 2008. Your children can be dropped off at Equestrian Dream Center (EDC)
by the school bus (if available), or check with the office to see if there is a car pool available for your area. When the
children get to the EDC if they have any home work we will encouraged them to do it before the lessons
start.
We will accept children 8 to 15 years for our after school
program Reserve your spot now. There is a limit on the number of children we can accept at this time. Children must be picked
up by 6:00 pm every evening unless other arrangements have been made.
